Zildjian

In September, 2017, I was fortunate to join the Zildjian Company as an Educational Artist.  It’s a real privilege to be associated with such a storied company, and especially one that has been so instrumental in the development of percussion instruments and so central to the advancement of percussion music for the past four hundred years! Thank you to Keith Aleo for bringing me on board and to everyone at Zildjian for all they do for musicians and the percussive arts!

2018 Army All-American Band

Spending the last week with students selected from around the country for the U.S. Army All-American Marching Band was humbling and inspiring, and I’m grateful to have had the chance to work alongside so many talented colleagues. The support for these students from all of the great industry sponsors, not to mention the Army and in particular the Army Field Band was really something special. I’m sure they will remember this experience for the rest of their lives, and I’m glad to have been a small part of it!

PASIC 2017

I’m fortunate to continue serving as a member of the Percussive Arts Society Percussion Ensemble Committee.  This year, I had the pleasure of adjudicating recorded submissions for the International Percussion Ensemble Competition, which selects the ensembles who will perform a showcase concert at the Percussive Arts Society International Convention.  I also had the honor of adjudicating the High School Chamber Percussion Ensemble Competition at this year’s convention with Dr. Casey Cangelosi (Professor of Percussion at James Madison University) and Dr. Megan Arns (Professor of Percussion at the University of Missouri).  Congratulations to all of the fantastic performing ensembles!
